Plumbers & Pipefitters for Dora
Dora Villarreal Snags Plumbers & Pipefitters Support –
Second major labor endorsement in a week
Dora Villarreal today announced another major labor endorsement – this time from Plumbers & Pipefitters Local #25 -- on the heels of her endorsement by the Tri-City Building & Construction Trades Council last week.
“On behalf of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union 25 Officers and the 1,650 men and women we represent, we are proud to support your election for Rock Island County State’s Attorney … We look forward to your successful election and stand ready to assist you in your campaign,” said Matthew Lienen, Business Manager for the union.
“I am deeply honored by their confidence in my ability to be an effective state’s attorney,” said Dora Villarreal, who recently announced her candidacy after receiving unanimous support from the Rock Island County Board. “As we were reminded at the Labor Day picnic honoring the men and women of organized labor, labor has made enormous contributions to the quality of life for families throughout this region. As State’s Attorney, I will stand for the values we associate with the labor movement.”
Last week, the building & construction trades council endorsed Dora. The council, which represents 7,000 men and women in organized labor, consists of 19 area unions that include the following: Asbestos/Insulators, Boilermakers, Bricklayers, Carpenters, Cement Masons, Elevator Construction, Glaziers, IBEW, Ironworkers, Millwrights, Operating Engineers, Painters, Plasterers, Plumbers & Pipefitters, Roofers, Sheet Metal Workers, Sprinkler Fitters and Teamsters.
